Kasar

Kasar is a special traditional food in Nepal. Kasaar is an integral item of marriages in most of Nepali cultures. Kasar is made before wedding ceremony and distributed to family and guests.

How to make Kasar 

 

“कसार साईत हेरेर मात्र बनाउने (कसार बटार्ने) चलन नेपाल मा।“

Ingredients

 

Rice -200 grams

Brown sugar (Gud, sakhhar, bheli)- 200 grams

Ghee- 2 table spoon

 

Method

 

Heat the rice in the pan adding some ghee in it making rice flour (khatte)

 

Grind the rice in the grinder making it mean powder without adding any water

 

When the rice is done melt the brown sugar

 

When the brown sugar is ready add the rice flour

 

Take the pan off the gas

 

When the mixture is Luke warm start making small balls from the mixture (balls should be made very tight)

 
(it is called Kasaar Batarne (कसार बटार्ने) in Nepal)
 

Your kasar is ready to serve.
