Jawulo
Jaulo or Jawulo is a type of khichadi. It is the mixture of dal and rice. It is mainly served to sick people. Since it contains either moong or musoor dal it has high amount of vitamin. This helps wound to help and sick people get well soon.
It is made very soft and smooth so easy to eat. This is the simple jaulo people prefer adding spinach, carrot, potato and other vegetables in jaulo. To make a vegetable jaulo you just have to clean all the vegetables properly and put it in the cooker along with other things.
Ingredients Moong dal -1 cup Rice – a fist Ginger- 1 table spoon Garlic-3 cloves Turmeric- ½ tea spoon Ghee- 2 table spoon Salt- to taste Asfatedo (hing) 1 pinch Water- 2 cups Method Wash and soak dal and rice for about half an hour in a bowl Take a presser cooker and add soaked rice and dal Now add salt, turmeric, ginger garlic and hing Also add ghee Add water and cover the cooker Switch on the gas and let it give 5 whistles Switch off the gas and let it stay there for other 5 minutes Now open the cover and with the help of a spatula (dadu) stir it and keep on checking if it is smooth Jaulo is ready serve it in a plate and serve it hot ! |
